Give three things in the opening turn: where it happens, who your companion is playing and what has just gone wrong. Stories that begin with a problem move; stories that begin with description stall.
Sharing turns properly
Keep each turn short enough to leave an opening. A message that resolves everything gives the other side nothing to answer. The best sessions at Hakko AI read like tennis, not like two monologues.
Keeping continuity
Names, injuries, promises and weather. Mention them once and your companion will carry them forward. If something drifts, correct it in a single line and continue; there is no need to restart.
Finishing
Decide the ending before you are tired of the story. Tell your companion you want to land it in three turns and they will start closing threads. A finished short story beats an abandoned epic every time.
